It’s October already which means it’s
time for the monthly market update through the month of September. At least we’re starting to get some Fall weather. I know, right?
Well, join us as we take a look at the local real estate market and what
interest rates are up to. Let’s dive in! Hi, I’m Stewart Ebaugh with Keller Williams Realty. And I am too! Even though the summer season is over, the real estate market continues to be very strong and it’s still very much a seller’s market. Yeah, we’re having a tough time finding the right home for some of our buyer clients. So let’s take a look at some of the numbers. We had 501 new listings come on the market, down a little bit than what we’ve been seeing, but that would make sense for September after the summer. 1,526 active listings, right in the average that we see each month. 373 homes went under contract, down a little bit than normal, but up 3% over the same time last year by September. 355 homes actually sold, just a little bit less and we’re down 13 percent since September of last year. Our average days on the market continue to be right around 50 days. And our average sales price went down a little bit over the course of the year but up about 2% for the same time last year. And the interest rates have been trending down over the last yea,r from a high in November of last year. And it’s ticked up to about 3.65% over the last month. And just for fun, let’s look at the highest priced home that sold in Henry County in September. 600 Elliott Road. Isn’t that a beautiful home? There’s a quick glimpse of our local real estate market.
