New LSU Engineering Students Complete Beach Wheelchair Project

New LSU Engineering Students Complete Beach Wheelchair Project

♫♫ This project is an absolute success. The
customer’s happy, we involved the community, we raised awareness to the fact that a
purely recreational wheelchair is not available to a lot of people. ♫♫ When we first started the project, we all
kind of decided that we wanted our goal here to be actually get Cheslyn in a wheelchair
more so than to pass a class or get a good grade in it. It’s just seeing her reaction
to actually building the chair, the first time she drove it, a big
smile across her face. It was awesome. ♫♫ I knew if we worked hard enough, the result would definitely be, like,
worth all the effort. And we had a few more people
than last year. To get the community involved and kind of inspire future engineers to consider
those aspects, maybe you can get better ideas. I think it awesome. It’s done, I’m excited for everybody
that helped participate. You put in a lot of hard work just to get through the LSU mechanical engineering program as it is. So at the end, to be able to use some of that not only and just make a project, but
make a project for someone who’s actually in-need, someone who will be
using it and kind of just bring joy to a family just makes getting your degree
a little bit better.
