Camden Haven Project Snapshot for 2019-20

(cheerful upbeat music) – Hi, I’m Nateaka.
– And I’m Andy. – Last week, we were in beautiful Wauchope and I was showing you around
some of the amazing projects that we have this financial year. – And the week before that,
I was in Port Macquarie giving you a snapshot of
what’s going on there as well. – And today, we are here
in beautiful Camden Haven to show you around some of the projects that we have happening
this financial year. – We’ve got more than $85
million worth of projects right across the local
government area. Camden Haven, there’s some exciting things
planned, should we do it? – We should.
– Let’s go. – As you can see behind us here, work has commenced on the Dunbogan Bridge. – [Andy] We’ll be shoring
up the piers of the bridge to make sure it continues
to be structurally sound and the bridge lasts another 50 years. This really is the life blood
of the Dunbogan community and it’s so important that these
works take place this year. – Here at the Lake Cathie foreshore, we’ll be constructing a new
skate park this financial year. – [Andy] This is gonna be fantastic for families and kids of all ages,
and it’s just part of the improvements we’re
making to the beautiful foreshore reserve down
here on Lake Cathie. I’m down here at the
Lake Cathie public school and behind me is where the
new sporting facilities are going to be delivered
at Rainbow Beach. This year, we’re in the
planning and design phase of this exciting project,
which is going to provide fantastic sporting and
recreational facilities that this growing community can all enjoy. – Here we are at the
iKew, and behind me is the location for the new
children’s playground. This is an amazing asset
to the local community for families and children, as well as the tourists that will be passing through. This playground also features some items from the local Kendall Men’s Shed who will be contributing
towards this awesome project. – We’re at Lakewood where
we’re going to be continuing the Schools To Schools footpath. – [Nateaka] This is an exciting project that’s been happening over
the last couple of years. The continuation of the
footpath from Serious Drive up to Brotherglen will be a great asset for this local community
and increase accessibility and mobility for the residents. – We’re hitting it for six here at the Kendall Sports Ground,
we’re going to be making some fantastic improvements here to ensure this sporting facility remains a really great community space. – We will be finalizing the expansion of the Kew Sewerage Treatment Plant. This ensures that the
infrastructure is in place as our local communities continue to grow. – We’re down here on Bold Street in Laurieton where this
year, we’re going to be delivering a new pedestrian crossing. – [Nateaka] We’ve been
undertaking a lot of engagement activities in the local area. – [Andy] So we’re really looking
forward to delivering the safety improvements on
Bold Street this coming year. – And that was a snapshot
of the Camden Haven area for this financial year,
I hope that you’ve enjoyed both Andy and I showing you around the Port Macquarie, Wauchope,
and the Camden Haven regions over the last couple of weeks. – It was a hell of a
lot of fun, wasn’t it? – It was definitely a lot of fun. – So there’s so much going on, more than $85 million
worth of exciting projects this financial year, but that’s not all. We’re going to keep you up
to date throughout the year and we’re gonna be getting out there and showing you more of what’s going on and we’re really looking forward to that. – Very excited.
– So stay tuned, make sure you follow us on Facebook, check our website, and
we’re looking forward to delivering more great
projects for our community in coming years.
– Yes.
